Modern slavery statement

Modern slavery includes forced labour, human trafficking, debt bondage and the exploitation of children. It has no place in our business or in the businesses we work with. Our turnover is below the level at which the Modern Slavery Act 2015 requires a statement, but we have chosen to publish one because we think it matters.

About us

Cosgrove Leisure Parks UK Limited and the companies in our group run seven holiday and residential parks in England. We sell and site holiday homes, lodges and park homes, and look after the parks where our owners and residents live and holiday. Our people work in park offices, sales, grounds and maintenance, cleaning and hospitality.

Our supply chains

Our main suppliers are:

  • UK manufacturers of holiday homes, lodges and park homes;
  • builders, groundworkers, electricians, plumbers and other contractors;
  • cleaning, waste, gardening and security services;
  • suppliers of furniture, equipment, food and drink for our parks.

We see the highest risk in seasonal and agency work, cleaning, construction and goods made overseas.

Our policies

  • We check that everyone we employ has the right to work in the UK and is paid at least the legal minimum, directly into their own bank account.
  • We never hold anyone’s passport or identity documents, and never charge staff fees to get a job with us.
  • We give everyone a written contract or statement of terms they understand.
  • Staff can raise concerns in confidence and without fear of being treated badly for it.
  • Our anti-bribery policy supports this statement.

Checking our suppliers

  • We prefer to work with established UK suppliers we know.
  • We expect suppliers and contractors to follow the law on modern slavery and to apply the same standards to their own suppliers.
  • We use only licensed labour providers where a licence is required.
  • If we find a problem, we will work with the supplier to put it right. If they will not, we will stop working with them.

Training and awareness

Managers who hire staff or choose suppliers are told about the signs of modern slavery, such as workers who seem controlled by someone else, have no access to their documents, or live where they work with no choice about it, and know how to report concerns.

Reporting a concern

If you think someone connected with our parks may be a victim of modern slavery, please tell a park manager or call us on 0345 340 3964. You can also call the Modern Slavery and Exploitation Helpline on 08000 121 700, or the police on 999 if someone is in immediate danger.

Looking ahead

Over the next year we will keep reviewing our suppliers, add modern slavery wording to new contracts and check that our hiring practices still meet this statement.

This statement was approved by the directors of Cosgrove Leisure Parks UK Limited and is reviewed every year.

Come and walk round the park

A viewing is the best way to judge a home: the light, the plot, the walk to the shop. Pick a day and we will show you round.
