Cookie policy

Cookies are small files a website saves on your phone or computer. This page lists every cookie this website can use, what each one is for and how long it lasts. You can change your choices at any time.

Our approach

  • Essential cookies make the website work. They are always on.
  • Statistics cookies (Google Analytics) count visits so we know which pages people find useful. UK law, as updated by the Data (Use and Access) Act 2025, allows cookies used only for statistics like this without asking first, as long as we tell you clearly and make it easy to say no. We have switched off Google’s advertising features, so this data is not used to show you adverts. You can turn statistics off in cookie settings and we will stop at once.
  • Marketing cookies (Meta and TikTok) are only used if you say yes. They help us see whether our adverts on Facebook, Instagram and TikTok lead to enquiries. If you choose “No thanks”, close the notice or do nothing, they stay off.

If your browser sends a “Global Privacy Control” or “Do Not Track” signal, we treat it as a no to marketing cookies.

Essential cookies

Cookie Set by What it does How long
cgl_consent This website Remembers your cookie choices so we do not ask again. 6 months
wordpress_test_cookie, wordpress_logged_in_*, wordpress_sec_*, wp-settings-* WordPress Only for our staff when they log in to update the website. Visitors do not get these. Until the browser closes, up to 14 days or 1 year (settings)

Our enquiry form (Contact Form 7) and its spam filter do not set cookies. The security tool that blocks repeated failed log-in attempts works on our server and does not place cookies on visitors’ devices.

Maps and Street View

Some park pages show a Google map or Street View. When one of these is loaded, Google may set its own cookies and receive your IP address, as with any visit to Google Maps. This is covered by Google’s privacy policy (opens in a new tab).

How to change your choices

  • Use the Cookie settings link at the bottom of every page. You can turn statistics off, or marketing on or off. When you turn something off we also delete its cookies from this website.
  • You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Blocking essential cookies may stop parts of the website from working.
  • Google offers a browser add-on that stops Google Analytics on every website: tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout (opens in a new tab).

Your choices last for 6 months, then we ask again. For more about how we use personal information, see our privacy policy.
