Thames Retreat is a small, close-knit park on a bend of the River Thames at Staines-upon-Thames, with landscaped grounds and fully furnished lodges.

Each home has its own driveway, and the plots on the riverfront come with a private mooring, so you can tie up a boat in front of your lodge. London, Heathrow and the M25 are all close by.

A little history

Staines grew where the Roman road from London to the west crossed the Thames, and the London Stone by the river marked the upstream limit of the City of London's control of the river. Thorpe, on this side, appears in the Domesday Book as Torp, held by Chertsey Abbey, and its old centre is a conservation area. Gravel digging in the 1900s left the lakes around the village, and Thorpe Park, one of England's largest theme parks, is close by.
